Step 1: Obtain a copy of statement(s) for your IRA and/or 401k.

Make sure you have the full copy of the entire statement. Make sure each page is crystal clear and can be read, as well as all 4 corners of the page in the document.

We recommend to ideally scan it and send over in an email, however if you have a camera on your phone, you may take a photo as well.

Step 2: Open a Self Directed IRA account

A Self Directed IRA (SD IRA) is simply the type of IRA that can accept and hold physical gold and silver. No penalties or taxable events will be triggered when you move/roll funds from another IRA/401k to the SD IRA.

In other words, there's no cost or penalty to you to put funds in here from another retirement plan. Once this account is open, we will generate your account number.

Step 3: Transferring funds to your new SD IRA

We will either submit a Transfer Request form OR if it's a 401k plan, we call your current financial company and request a check for the amount you're rolling into your new SD IRA.

These funds will move tax free, penalty free to your SD IRA. This process is very simple and we will help facilitate the call and paperwork to your financial company you're moving out of.

If you have a current 401k that you and/or your employer is still contributing to, we will not close this account, of course. We will simply move whatever amount of your choosing into the SD IRA, which will be allocated to the precious metals.

Step 4: Waiting times

Depending on the financial company, some moving quicker than others, the speed in which the funds are transferred can take just a few days, or in some more extreme cases take a few weeks.

Verity Metals will make sure the process is done as quickly and efficiently as possible, however sometimes a financial company will do everything in its power to not allow these funds to leave their books. We have your back every step of the way.

Step 5: Storing your IRA Gold and Silver

Step 7: Finalizing your IRA and solidifying your retirement savings

Once we decide on product choices, and we have everything available to you from US Minted coins (our recommendation), to bars, to rounds, from big to small, to other world coins, we will invoice your retirement account for the written invoice you will receive, review, and sign off on.

Once the invoice is completed, we will immediately send the gold and silver to the storage option of your choice. You will have online access and receive quarterly statements, just like you do with any other IRA or 401k.

There is a few week waiting period to see your gold and silver show on your account, and that is because you gold and silver will be verified and logged depending on the storage method you chose.

If you decided to take delivery of it yourself, you will have it shipped to the address you chose to have it shipped to.

From there you can match it up to the invoice to ensure everything is there and accounted for.

Step 8: Moving forward in our relationship
